Well it is getting close to Winchester Old Timers reunion. It is a three-day event starting on Fri Aug 3, 2018 and running thru Sunday. If you have not preregistered, you can register at the track on Friday and Saturday morning starting at 8 am till noon. Your car must pass a tech inspection for safety which will begin at 8:30 am and continue until all cars have passed tech inspection. You will not be able to register on Sunday so if you are planning on running on Sunday you will have to get registered and inspected on Sat. You must run water in cooling systems. NO antifreeze. It will be checked.
The schedule for track time will be Friday a four-hour block of time starting a noon. For Saturday and Sunday, it will be determined, and you will get that information at the drivers meeting. It will most likely be two one-hour sessions on Sat and a one-hour session on Sunday. The sessions will be divided up into four categories. Cruisers, non-caged midgets/sprints. Caged midgets /sprints. Others to include modifieds and stock cars. Anyone can run with the cruisers, as long as a slow pace is maintained. This will be further explained at the drivers meeting. When registering check on the time and location of the drivers meeting. The organizer of the old-timer’s reunion has three objectives. 1. None of the Old Timers participants or staff has to take an ambulance ride. 2. All participants get to take their cars home in the same condition as when they arrived at the track. 3. All participants and volunteers have a fun, wonderful, memorable week end. If you use Facebook, you can review the Winchester Old Timers Reunion page for more info.
This is a great week end to see many top-notch vintage race cars, so this should be on your “to do “list so come on out. The weather is looking good at this time so that should not cause you worry. Hope to see you there... Jim McDermott
